Time Machine

Like an alien space ship, parked in the midst of the field, stood this silver dome
With hesitant steps, slowly I moved towards this wonder
The door slides open, welcoming me in
Displaying within an array of colorfully lit buttons
Past or the Future?? It echoed
Wonder struck I was, for moments to be
Do I want to travel those bitter sweet chapters of the forgotten past?
Or do I want to fathom the unpredictable future, of the next juncture?
Excitement laced with turmoil took over my being,
A vantage, a gateway not an everyday bliss
Befuddled in mind, for the choice to make;
In trepidation my fingers fondled the colored buttons
Then prodded the machine to take me to the past….
For the future is yet to be seen, but those moments I slipped to relish,
And the moments I wish to cherish, I will get not ever!!
