My Lil One
Nested in my arms as she fed on me; she paused to look and gaze at me A toothless smile as she flashed, Skip a beat it did my heart; A picture perfect she gifted me; to be treasured till end to be As She stood up on her twos and stumbled forward; My heart it knew no leaps & bounds As She took her first steps to school; My eyes it did brim with tears She said her Mommy was her hero; And I saw the world below She grew with time; I grew with her She graduated from School; My heart it did fill with pride Soon she grew apart, where I was not a part; My heart bled tears; And filled with fears She could not feel, what my heart would feel She could not hear, what my heart would speak Mother your role is over, I felt her say Deaf to her words, I would still cling on Days and months I waited on; just to hear her say “Mom oh Mom, I miss you so”
