Live your Dream

“Live your Dream” she was constantly told encouragingly by her near and dear ones. But only, this came when she entered her mid-40s. Till then she had forgotten to live her dream. She always thought her life was her family, husband, kids & a steady well paid job and yes she was happily living it. All her passions were forgotten and bid adieu to. Like the blink of an eye the wave of youth disappeared and mid age surfaced and there she was in the midst of an empty nest gapping into the barren. “You have done your duty, now Live your dream, follow your passion” the voices trailed off to follow theirs.

At 45, how can she do what she wanted to at 25?? And even if she did, she would be making a mockery of herself in society. Overwhelming emotions took over her being. Guilt of letting her passions is, guiltily wondering if she let the youthful phase of her life just slip by. But then nobody is to blame...it was something she chose to do... was the best argument.

After a myriad of thoughts and contemplations, finally she decided to Live her life if not her dreams. She would play loud music and dance her heart out, binge on her favourite chocolates unperturbed about the extra pounds she would put on, went on long drives on her own with the windows down, ordered her meals unruffled by thoughts of what to lay on the table. But quite evidently the meaning of even “LIVE YOUR LIFE”, in her 40s was drastically different from her 20s. Time and Passions never to be retrieved, faces that become apathetic, only left with the thought “Why and when did I Forget Me??”
