XBox - The Gym Trainer

Recently I have been so involved in penning down a lot of poetry, so decided to come back to my forte of humour laced offbeat thoughts....Hope you are able to travel with me !!

Birthdays as much fun & exciting as it could be, is also equally challenging. Challenging is definitely an incongruous adjective for a celebrated occassion. But I choose to use "challenging" merely to emphasize on the effort put to coming up with innovative ideas for birthday gifts.

Well, one such birthday landed the XBox (video gaming brand) in our home, as a surprise when the baby of the house turned sweet sixteen. Always diligently aware of the whims & fancies of the family, this was definitely thought to be the best gift for the occassion. Screams of excitement, sparkling eyes & loving hugs followed on opening the gift and seeing the black XBox with its innumerable accessories.

Having astutely executed my role as an event planner, the Techies of the house took over to confect and get Mr XBox into action. All properly set; Mr XBox was ceaselessly in action for the next couple of weeks giving neighbours sleepless nights from the excited screeches across the wall. In a couple of weeks this excitement died down and Mr XBox was safely stacked away in the shelf till the spiders felt it a safe place to build their cobwebs. And I am pretty sure the neighbours must have said a special "Thank you" prayer for that.

After years, with the current Pandemic scene, efforts being made to entertain oneself, Mr XBox was re-discovered from the closet and back into action. Re-emphasizing the fact that Mr XBox was back into action after years of hiding, he was fit as a fiddle but the years had definitely impinged our being. Breathlessness that followed the physically attributed games, brought to light how this could be piloted towards a daily routine of gym workout complimented with entertainment. Hence Mr XBox has remained our Gym Trainer.

Now you know why this honorific of "MR" is used when referring to THE XBOX.
